Draft — placeholder content

Privacy Policy

Last updated: this is a placeholder. A full UK-GDPR-compliant policy will be published before launch.

What we collect

Your Google sign-in email, your first name and last initial, your UK mobile number, your role (driver or rider), and (drivers only) vehicle make / model / colour / registration. For rides: origin and destination places, departure time, seat counts, and the ratings you give and receive.

Why we collect it

To match you with other workers heading the same way, to let an accepted rider and driver contact each other, to surface your aggregate rating to other users, and to send notifications about the rides you’ve requested, posted, or been accepted on.

Who sees what

Your name, mode (driver or rider), and aggregate rating are visible to other signed-in users. Your phone number and (driver) vehicle registration are only revealed to the other party once a ride is accepted. Individual ratings between two parties stay private to those two parties.

Notifications

Push notifications are off by default. We only send them after you explicitly opt in from inside the app. You can turn them off at any time from your Profile.

Where the data lives

We use Supabase (EU region) for the database and authentication, Vercel for hosting, and a transactional push provider for web push notifications.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to delete it, or correct inaccuracies by emailing hello@shiftride.app. We aim to respond within 30 days.
